LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30 1984) was an American professional basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). As a prep to pro his dream, the Cleveland Cavaliers chose him as the top pick in the NBA draft in 2003. He was voted as the NBA player of the year for 2004. Then he was one of the premier players of the NBA and was awarded the NBA MVP Award twice in the years 2009 and 2010. James, who was unable to win the championship in Cleveland in 2010, quit as a free-agent and joined the Miami Heat. This was made clear by the book The Decision. It is one of the most controversial choices made by a sports free-agent in history.
