Awkwafina
Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and performer who made her name with innovative raps which addressed sexuality and racial identities with an edgy, comical perspective. Her career then grew to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her first musical encounter. She performed on the trumpet. Apart from classical music and jazz, Nora Lum began studying hip-hop in her teens. At college, she was studying journalism and women's studies. Then, she even had a short time studying Mandarin during her time in Beijing. Not until after graduation did her focus shift to music. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an online hit, and it was featured in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. It also included viral hits like body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC BitcheUSD. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015, which was another project. Following a career that was successful as a performer She chose to assume the character of actress. Apart from early series like Girl Code and Tawk she was also in films like Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed several notable roles that were a breakthrough, like Dude Ocean's Eight or Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP,"In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
